Want to be part of a family oriented organization that is packed with fun and promotes self-confidence, ethics, leadership skills, and pride in citizenship? Pack 114 may be the place for you!

Founded in 2005, Pack 114 is based out of Ventana Ranch Elementary School and is sponsored by our one and only neighborhood association, the VRNA. Pack 114 prides itself on creating a fun-filled program that is all about the boys. Cub Scouts offers an age appropriate program for your son to develop life-skills that will help him to be a leader in tomorrow's world.

The program is for boys who are in the 1st through 5th grades. Boys are placed in a "den" with other boys their own age. The dens typically meet on a weekly basis on a schedule that is established by the parents at the beginning of the year. Each den may meet on a different night, depending on the needs of their members. The dens follow a program established by the Boy Scouts of America to lead them to earning their rank advancement for the year. The rank programs are as follows:

Lions         - Kindergarden

Tigers        - 1st grade

Wolves      - 2nd grade

Bears        - 3rd grade

Webelos I  - 4th grade

Webelos II - 5th grade

Once a month, all the dens participate in an all-group "Pack Meeting", where we sing songs, do skits, and have presentations for the many awards that the cub scouts have earned. Through it all, we have other seasonal Pack events to get the most out of the scouting year.

At Pack 114, this includes both a Fall and Spring Hike, Rain Gutter Regatta (boat races!) or Space Derby (rocket races!), Holiday Party, Pinewood Derby (car races!), campout, and water blaster fight in the park. Our community service activities include delivering the quarterly neighborhood newsletter, participating in the district in the annual "Scouting for Food" collection drive for Roadrunner Food Bank, multiple school grounds clean-ups, toys-for-tots toy drive, and so much more!

The year culminates in the boys earning their rank awards at the annual Blue and Gold Banquet in February, and Pack 114 does it up like no other pack! To recognize the boys' year long accomplishment, we won't just hand them their award and wish them congratulations. That just wouldn't be right! Instead, we go all out in creating a celebration to remember for the entire family. Previous themes have included:

Star Wars

Minecraft

Super Heroes

Knights of the Round Table

Wild West

Time Machine

Minions

Ninjas

Leaders and scouts come dressed to the theme, and the boys are recognized for all their hard work.  Don't miss out on both the fun and the opportunity to instill great values into your son! For information on joining our Pack, contact Cubmaster Chad Mantelli at cubmaster@albuquerque114.mypack.us .
